Two shop websites that send every lead straight into Shopmonkey

One shop, two disciplines. We replaced a slow WordPress site and Calendly with two fast websites that work like a front desk, sending every lead and booking straight into Shopmonkey.

Integrations & automations

Shopmonkey work requests

Forms on both sites create work requests in the shop’s Shopmonkey account, in one shared queue.

Tune Day booking (replaced Calendly)

On-site booking creates a named Shopmonkey order for each slot and prevents double-booking.

Newsletter to Shopmonkey

Every newsletter signup becomes a customer record in Shopmonkey automatically.

Google and AI search

Rich structured data, a self-updating sitemap and llms.txt help both brands get found.

Adventure Motors has been building off-road and overland trucks and SUVs in Grandview, MO, in the Kansas City metro, since 2015. More than 8,700 custom builds and 145+ direct-dealer brands later, the shop also runs Adventure Motors Racing, a street and track performance division at the same address. One shop, two disciplines, and two websites that needed to act like the shop’s front desk.

The challenge

The main site ran on WordPress, and it showed its age. The online store had been removed, but its leftovers had not. A third-party audit found more than 40 dead store links, Google Shopping links that returned 404 errors, three conflicting homepage titles, four H1 headings and broken structured data. The homepage weighed 5.5 MB across 164 requests, which is a long wait for a customer standing in a parking lot on a phone.

Leads came in through a shop-software form embedded in an iframe, and Tune Day appointments were booked through Calendly. That meant more tools to manage and more places for a customer to drop off.

The racing side was in rougher shape. There were two half-finished WordPress sites on the same theme: the racing site and a retired “Adventure Performance” domain. Both still carried theme demo content, including fake testimonials, a fake rating and FAQ answers about phone repair. For a shop whose reputation is its work, that had to go.

What we built

A front desk that feeds Shopmonkey

The shop already runs on Shopmonkey, so we made the websites part of it. Forms on both sites create work requests directly in the shop’s Shopmonkey account, all landing in one shared queue. One shop, one work queue. Nobody copies a lead from an inbox into the shop system.

  • Vehicle type-ahead helps customers pick their truck or car accurately.
  • Referral sources are pulled live, so the shop sees how people found them.
  • Photo attachments let customers show the vehicle or the problem up front.
  • Newsletter signups become Shopmonkey customers automatically.

We also made it hard to lose a lead. Every submission is saved before it is sent to Shopmonkey, and a daily retry job resends any that failed. If Shopmonkey ever has an outage, the lead is still waiting, not gone.

Tune Day booking, without Calendly

In October 2026 we replaced Calendly with booking built into the site for OTT Tune Days. Each booking creates a named Shopmonkey order, double-booking is prevented, and the owner can cancel unpaid bookings or block off slots himself. One less subscription, and one less place for appointments to live.

A custom admin the owner actually uses

Instead of WordPress plugins, the shop got a custom admin built around what it publishes. The owner can edit:

  • a blog with a visual editor
  • events, including recurring events, an RSVP inbox and “host an event” requests
  • portfolio builds with galleries and video
  • sponsors and photo galleries

The racing site adds a race-team roster, “From the Track” race posts and a shop blog. A one-click “Copy to Racing” button publishes a build on both sites, so great work only has to be written up once.

One honest racing site

We merged the two half-finished racing sites into one, cleared out every piece of demo content, and refocused it on selling performance upgrades. The race team is still there, as supporting proof that the shop knows speed.

Upkeep that runs itself

  • Uploaded images are resized into four sizes and modern formats automatically (AVIF measured 47% smaller), with blurred previews while they load.
  • The sitemap and llms.txt, used by AI search, rebuild themselves from published content.
  • Past events drop off the calendar on their own.

The result

The homepage went from 5.5 MB and 164 requests to about 250 KB and about 30 requests, roughly 20 times lighter. Both sites have zero accessibility violations.

We protected the search rankings the shop had already earned. Every old WordPress URL was preserved, with each redirect resolving in a single hop, and the retired performance domain’s six service paths redirect one to one. Rich structured data now describes the automotive business, its services, events, FAQs, how-tos and the race team.

Two brands at one street address can compete with each other in local search. We avoided that by declaring Racing a division of Motors and keeping their services from overlapping. We also left star-rating markup out on purpose until there are verified reviews to back it up.

The short version: the websites now do front-desk work. Leads and bookings arrive in Shopmonkey ready to act on, and the owner updates the sites himself.
